A POPULAR Scottish beach has been partially closed due to reports of an unexploded ordnance.
A royal navy bomb squad has been called to Aberdeen Beach after police were made aware at around 9.25am on Tuesday morning.
The public has been told to avoid the area while the object is investigated by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team.
A police cordon has been erected to prevent public access.
Police Scotland said in a statement: "Around 9.25am on Tuesday, 16 June, 2026, we were called to a report of a suspected unexploded ordnance on Aberdeen Beach, Esplanade, Aberdeen.
"Officers are at the scene and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team have been made aware.
"A cordon is in place and the public is advised to avoid the area."
