On 12 June 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'West' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment, including a marine brigade, a territorial defense brigade, and a National Guard brigade (coded to this event) near Shchurove, Donetsk. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: three armored combat vehicles, 16 vehicles, three artillery pieces, a Partizan MLRS and up to 220 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Smorodkivka, Shchurove, Lyman, Cherneshchyna and Hrushivka [Russian MoD reported 220 fatalities.
