On 6 June 2026, in Arequipa - Cerro Colorado (Arequipa), two unidentified individuals placed and detonated two explosives at the residence of a journalist in the Jose Santos Atahualpa sector, while he was inside. The journalist indicated that he had been receiving threats to withdraw a criminal complaint he filed against 11 National Police officers for corruption in the previous few days. The explosives caused damage to the house. There were no casualties.
