On 6 June 2026, in Ba Yar village (Kyaukpyu township, Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes by dropping two bombs on the village monastery using a Y-12 aircraft at 10:30 pm. The wall and windows of the monastery were damaged. Casualties unknown.
