On 12 July 2021, Al Shabaab militants fired eight rounds of a mortar shell clipper, targeting an AMISOM DNDF forward operation at a base in Bulo Burto town (Bulo Burto, Hiraan). All the rounds landed off target. No fatalities and/or injuries reported.
