On 10 June 2026, in the afternoon, children picked up an unexploded ordnance (UXO) left by an unidentified armed group, in the town of Diabaly (Diabaly, Niono, Segou), which exploded while they were handling it, killing 2 people and injuring twenty-two others, nine of them seriously. The injured were transported to the health center in Niono.
