On 9 June 2026, in Escuinapa de Hidalgo, Sinaloa, a suspected car bomb exploded at the entrance to the city on the federal highway 15 near Colonia 10 de mayo. The explosion damaged a convenience store and electrical infrastructure, causing power outages in parts of the municipality. Mexican military personnel secured the area and conducted security operations. According to residents, the explosion was a car bomb although authorities have not confirmed this version.
