On 8 June 2026, around 00:20 am, 2 unidentified drones (likely linked to Iranian-backed groups due to ongoing hostilities between the United States, Israel, and Iran) crashed and fell near the headquarters of the Peshmerga's Unit 70 in Sulaymaniyah City (Al Sulaymaniyah). The cause of the crash was not reported. There were no casualties or material damage.
