Grenade event in Manila, Manila area, Philippines on Sun 18th July 2021
18th July 2021
Manila police officers disarmed a grenade that was found Sunday morning at the Port Area without its pin and lever. A report from the Manila Police Department (MPD) said a pedicab driver informed police about the M26 fragmentation hand grenade that was seen inside a wooden pushcart at 13th Street corner Rail Road Street beside the office of The Philippine Star. Operatives from the MPD’s Explosives and Ordnance Division (MPD-EOD) immediately responded to the scene at around 9:30 a.m. and performed an RSP or a “render safe procedure” that safely disarmed the grenade. Police said the grenade’s lever was later located 11 feet away from where the grenade was found. No further details are available, as of writing.
