As a result of the explosion of an unexploded ordnance shell in Ghazni city, one child was killed, and two others were injured.

The Bakhtar News Agency, controlled by the Taliban, reported on Monday, June 15, that the incident occurred in the Kewan area of the third police district of Ghazni city.

According to the report, Khalid Sarhadi, spokesperson for the Taliban’s police command in Ghazni, said the incident happened when several nomadic (Kuchi) children attempted to move an unexploded shell.

This comes as on the previous day, two separate explosions in Helmand Province killed one child and injured six others.

Unexploded ordnance in Afghanistan continues to claim civilian lives.
