In Tamu Township, Sagaing Region, a local resident's cow stepped on and was killed by a landmine planted by the Military Council troops around the perimeter of a village. It is learned that the military claimed the cow as compensation for the cost of the mine and took away the meat.
On Sunday, May 31, a cow belonging to a local villager stepped on a mine planted by the Military Council troops in Kun Taung Village, Tamu Township. The mine explosion left the cow severely injured, and while it was still alive, the soldiers shot and killed it.
