SAA event in Tabasco, Huimanguillo area, Mexico on Fri 12th June 2026

The FGR intercepted a pickup truck at the La Venta security checkpoint in Huimanguillo, Tabasco, where they detained two armed individuals following a surveillance operation stemming from a citizen complaint about the transport of illicit shipments along the Cárdenas-Coatzacoalcos highway stretch on June 12, 2026.

Investigations by the Federal Ministerial Police point to the flow of weaponry supplying criminal cells operating along the Tabasco-Veracruz border. Our correspondent on the scene documented that the perimeter adjacent to the phytosanitary station was secured by heavily armed federal agents while a physical inspection of the civilian vehicle was conducted.

The inventory of the seizure totaled: 3 long arms with camouflage finish, 1 short arm, 2 magazines, 276 rounds of various calibers, cash, and 2 cell phones.

The two arrested individuals, whose identities remain under legal reserve, along with the seized weaponry, were placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office to determine their legal status.
