A man was arrested in Villa Juárez, Navolato, after a police chase; five AK-47 rifles, magazines, tactical vests and drugs were seized in a recent state operation.

An operation by the State Preventive Police in the town of Villa Juárez, in Navolato, concluded with the arrest of an armed man and the seizure of a significant arsenal, following reports of detonations in the area.

According to the official report, emergency calls alerted authorities to continuous automatic gunfire in the Villa Juárez district. State police launched a search operation and located a pickup truck carrying several armed individuals.

During the chase, the occupants of the vehicle got out and fled in different directions, which allowed only the arrest of one of the alleged perpetrators.

During the inspection of the vehicle, a Honda truck with no reported theft, authorities seized 5 AK-47 rifles , 24 loaded magazines , three tactical vests with ballistic plates , as well as illicit substances.

Also located were approximately one kilogram of green herb with characteristics of marijuana distributed in nine bags, as well as 240 cigarettes allegedly made with the same substance.

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the corresponding authorities, while the vehicle and the seized material were placed under ministerial custody for the integration of the investigation file.

The operation stemmed from citizen reports of armed activity in the area, which triggered the immediate mobilization of state forces.
