An explosion occurred at a villa in Västra Frölunda, Gothenburg on Monday evening. A man was wrestled to the ground and held by a private individual until the police could arrest him.
Police and emergency services were called to the residential area at 9:08 p.m.
The National Bomb Squad was on site at 10 p.m. on Monday evening, along with police forensic experts.
The person who was wrestled down was arrested by police and is a man in his 25s. He is previously known to the police.
Witness: Someone who threw something
A witness tells SVT that a person allegedly ran forward and threw something at one of the villas and that black smoke was seen.
– You are quite shaken, but not surprised, says the witness from the scene.
It is unclear what was thrown at the house, but according to the emergency services, it can be seen that something detonated and the property reportedly suffered material damage.
No one was reportedly injured.
Police remain at the scene Tuesday morning to speak with witnesses and secure leads.
