It is reported by local residents and members of the Kalay Township People's Defense Force that civilians have been killed and captured during airstrikes conducted by the military junta's troops along the Kalay-Tamu township road section in Sagaing Region.

In an attempt to regain control of the connecting road between the towns, which is over 80 miles long, the military is launching a two-pronged offensive from both Kalay and Tamu towns. A local resident who wished to remain anonymous stated that more than four locals are likely to have been killed during an airstrike on East Khonthar village in Kalay Township on June 11.
