Projectile event in Battambang Province, Moung Ruessei area, Cambodia on Wed 27th May 2026

On May 27, 2026, in Moung Ruessei District, Battambang Province, there was an accident caused by an unexploded 60mm war remnant. The explosion was triggered by burning to clear land for crops, leaving a young man seriously injured. In May, there have already been 3 to 4 accident cases caused by war remnants, which resulted from handling, striking, or burning unexploded ordnance. I would like to express my condolences and deepest sympathy to the victims and their families, and also appeal to all citizens to be cautious and not to touch, strike, or burn unexploded ordnance, and to report to the post police officer or local village/commune authorities, and especially to the CMAC unit, for the safety of yourself and those around you!
