On June 11, a Rohit Godara gang associate, identified as Shakeel Ansari, resident of Ludhiana District of Punjab, was injured in an encounter with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and Police near Nathawala Bridge on Hanumangarh Road in Sri Ganganagar District of Rajasthan, reports The Times of India. The accused sustained a bullet injury in his leg during an exchange of fire near 17 ML Pathanwala in the Sadar police station area. Police stated that the accused opened fire on the police team while attempting to escape. In retaliatory fire, he was injured in the leg. He was later taken to Sri Ganganagar District Hospital for treatment, where he remains under medical care. According to police, a tip-off was received about a suspicious individual moving on a motorcycle in the area, planning a criminal act linked to recent extortion threats. As the pursuit continued, the accused allegedly fired at police personnel multiple times, after which police retaliated in self-defence and injured him below the calf. A pistol with a magazine containing one live cartridge, along with four empty cartridges and a motorcycle, was recovered from the spot. Officials stated that he has been involved in multiple criminal conspiracies across several states, including reconnaissance and planning of attacks, logistical support to shooters, and facilitation of weapons and hideouts. Further investigation is underway.
