The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) cadres briefly took control of a section of the main highway near Lamji in Sibi District in Balochistan on June 9 and stopped vehicles for inspection, reports The Balochistan Post. The BRG claimed responsibility for the operation in a statement issued to the media. The BRG’s ‘spokesperson’ Dostain Baloch said BRG cadres had established a temporary checkpoint on the highway linking Quetta with interior Sindh and Punjab. He claimed that four vehicles allegedly transporting supplies were disabled by gunfire after being stopped and searched, while their drivers were released.
