RPG event in Manipur, Imphal East District area, India on Thu 15th July 2021

Security Forces (SFs) arrested four militants of the Zeliangrong United Front-Kamson (ZUF-K) outfit and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunitionin Imphal East District of Manipur late on July 15, police said. Acting on a tip-off, a combined team of Manipur Police and Assam Rifles (AR) conducted a search operation and arrested the four militants from K R Lane area, Superintendent of Police (SP), N Herojit Singh, said. They were involved in extorting railway workers and people travelling on the Imphal-Jiribam Road, he said. After interrogating them, SFs unearthed an arms dump in a forest in Noney District and seized an HK rifle with magazine, two RPG launchers, and a self-loading rifle.The identity of the arrested militants is yet to be ascertained.
