On June 7, Security Forces (SFs) recovered a foreign-made pistol at a Mobile Vehicle Checking Point (MVCP) established at Chandsuma, Kanispora, near the FCI godown in Baramulla District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Greater Kashmir. During the checking operation, a white Maruti Brezza (JK02DN-6527) travelling from Srinagar towards Baramulla was intercepted. In a search, security personnel recovered a Turkish-manufactured CANIK TP9SF METE (9×19 mm) pistol from a bag carried by one of the occupants. The accused was identified as Wakeel Ahmad Theekri, who failed to produce any valid licence or authorisation for possession of the weapon.|On June 8, Security Forces (SFs) recovered a pistol of Chinese origin along with two magazines and 13 live rounds of ammunition during a follow-up search operation at Kalsi Hardu in the Kamalkot area of Uri tehsil (revenue unit), Baramulla District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Greater Kashmir. The recovery was made in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, local Lambardar, and Chowkidar. Police stated that the recoveries indicate the possibility of a wider illegal arms network operating in the region, and further investigation is underway.
