On June 7, Security Forces (SFs) recovered a cache of arms, explosives and Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) materials from a CPI-Maoist hideout in the Todma village Forest area under Barsur Police Station limits in Dantewada District, Chhattisgarh, during a joint operation by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Dantewada Police, reports Zee News. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the joint team launched a search operation in the area. During the operation, SFs detected two five-litre pressure cooker Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and a 10-kilogram pipe bomb concealed in the forest. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called in and successfully neutralised all three explosive devices on-site. Subsequent searches led to the recovery of a large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives, including Barrel Grenade Launchers (BGLs), a .303 rifle, an air rifle, detonators, ammunition, wireless sets, gunpowder, Cordex wire, batteries, bomb-making materials, uniforms, and CPI-Maoist literature. Seizure formalities have been completed and further investigations are underway.
