Four personnel, including an officer associated with a company linked to the Army, were killed, in an attack by unidentified gunmen, suspected to be Baloch insurgents, near Kalatuk area of Turbattehsil (revenue unit) in Kech District of Balochistan on June 6, reports The Balochistan Post. Armed assailants ambushed a convoy of three vehicles and directly targeted one of them. As a result, Frontier Works Organization (FWO) officer Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Arsalan Haleem, a resident of Karachi, along with Naoman Kazmi of Rawalpindi, Mohammad Asif, and Kaleemullah, were killed. The FWO personnel came under attack while being escorted by members of a government-backed armed militia group commonly referred as death squad, who were providing security in two separate vehicles. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
