SAA event in Sarajevo Canton, Sarajevo area, Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sun 7th June 2026

Three men were injured during an armed confrontation between members of organised criminal groups. Two men were transported to the hospital for medical treatment, while a third man, who is also suspected of being involved in the shooting, sought medical assistance in East Sarajevo, where he was placed under police control. According to preliminary reports, the incident was a drug-related mafia confrontation. Police officers and the prosecutor are currently investigating the scene. The day after, police arrested two men, aged 29 and 39, as suspects. During the investigation, police investigators and utility workers cleared the terrain to search for evidence, leading to the discovery and seizure of three handguns at the scene. In a follow-up to the investigation into the shooting, another 20-year-old man was arrested.
