During a police operation to arrest a wanted 43-year-old man, he refused to surrender and opened fire with a Kalashnikov automatic rifle at police officers. A 34-year-old police officer was shot and killed, while a 36-year-old police officer was injured. Police returned fire, injured the suspect, and arrested him.
