During an operation in the northern sector of Culiacán, high-powered weapons, ammunition, tactical equipment, and a vehicle with a current theft report were seized.

Culiacán, Sinaloa.- Members of the Interinstitutional Group seized weapons, ammunition, tactical equipment, a vehicle with a current theft report and more than one hundred tire-puncturing devices during an operation carried out in the La Conquista sector, north of the Sinaloa capital.

The operation was led by members of the Sinaloa Public Security Secretariat, through the Sinaloa Special Operations Group (GOES) of the State Preventive Police, in coordination with personnel from the Mexican Army, National Guard, Navy Secretariat, Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, Attorney General's Office of the Republic and Attorney General's Office of the State.

According to official information, while conducting prevention and surveillance patrols in the La Conquista sector, the GOES members heard gunshots, so they immediately went to the area where the shots came from.

Upon arriving at the site, they observed a vehicle whose occupants fled upon detecting the presence of the authorities, entering a residential area.

They fled on foot and abandoned the unit

According to the report, the alleged perpetrators then got out of the vehicle and continued their escape on foot, which led to a search operation in the area.

However, despite the deployment implemented by the participating corporations, it was not possible to locate the suspects.

During the inspection carried out at the site, the authorities stated:

- 1 machine gun caliber 5.56 x 45 millimeters.

- 1 M4 type carbine caliber 5.56 x 45 millimeters.

- 1 linked belt with 50 cartridges caliber 5.56 x 45 millimeters for machine gun.

- 1 black tactical vest with two ballistic plates.

- 1 white Ford Territory vehicle, model 2023, with license plates that are not on the vehicle and a current theft report.

- 135 tire-puncturing devices.

Everything was placed at the disposal of the Attorney General's Office.

The weapons, ammunition, tactical equipment, the vehicle and other evidence seized were placed at the disposal of the Attorney General's Office, the authority in charge of continuing the corresponding investigations and determining the origin and possible use of the seized material.

Authorities reiterated that coordinated operations will continue in different sectors of the state with the aim of inhibiting criminal activity and strengthening security conditions for the population.
