On June 3 at 5:10 AM, PDF battalions under Strategy No. 18 and Strategy No. 19 of the Naypyitaw Military Region, in collaboration with the Naypyitaw People's Defense Organization (PDO/PKF), launched an attack on the Swa Ma Gyi (Swa Ywa Ma) village base on the east bank of the Sittaung River in Swa township, Bago region, where about 60 soldiers were stationed. It is also learned that they attacked the Ywa Thit village base at 6:30 AM.

During the battle for the Swa Ma Gyi base, over 20 soldiers including Major Kyaw Linn Aung from the No. 6017 Tank Battalion were killed, and the remaining soldiers retreated and fled with many casualties. Consequently, the Swa Ma Gyi base was successfully captured at 6:30 AM.

In this base-capturing battle, 11 G-3 rifles, one MA-3 rifle, one MA-11 rifle, one pistol, over 1,000 rounds of assorted ammunition, five Energa grenades, two landmines, three 14-mines, 15 charges for 60mm mortars, seven G-3 magazines, two MA magazines, food rations, and medical supplies were seized.
