A terrorist military unit temporarily stationed at the monastery in Sitpye Village, Launglon Township, Tanintharyi Region, suffered heavy losses after being surrounded and attacked by joint revolutionary forces, leading them to burn down houses in the village, a local revolutionary news source told Khit Thit Media.
The terrorist military column, which had withdrawn back to Launglon town on the afternoon of June 2, advanced back into Sitpye Village at around 4:00 AM yesterday, June 3, with a force of over 120 personnel and stationed themselves at the village monastery.
At around 2:30 PM on June 3, revolutionary forces surrounded and attacked the monastery where the terrorist military was stationed, triggering a fierce clash that ended at around 6:30 PM. The terrorist military suffered numerous casualties and took heavy hits during the battle, prompting the military to provide fire support by shelling the Launglon Township area with howitzer heavy artillery from the Dawei side as well as numerous heavy weapon rounds from within Launglon town.
