SAA event in Nuevo Leon, Monterrey, Croc area, Mexico on Tue 9th June 2026

One man died, and another was injured after attempting to rob a store in the Croc neighborhood, in the municipality of Monterrey.

The events occurred on Alfonso Santos Palomo street, at its intersection with Martínez del Río Blanco, where both received a total of five shots, according to neighbors.

The man, presumably the owner of the store, was serving customers when the two young men arrived on a motorcycle to steal merchandise; however, he pulled out a firearm to prevent it.

Both young men were hit by bullets, causing the death of one of them, who was left lying lifeless at the entrance of the store.

The other man, identified as José Valdez, was injured. Red Cross personnel quickly arrived, provided him with first aid, and transported him to the university hospital for medical evaluation.

Civil Force officers, ministerial agents, and personnel from the Institute of Criminalistics and forensic services arrived to remove the body.
