What initially triggered an intense police mobilization at the Paseo Monclova Mall ended with the capture of the alleged perpetrator, who turned out to be a security guard from the Liverpool store located within the same shopping complex.

Investigations by the authorities established that the suspect was a private security worker and that he was carrying his service weapon, a .380 caliber pistol, which he allegedly used to intimidate the manager of the Banamex branch during the robbery.

The arrest was made possible thanks to the joint work between elements of the Criminal Investigation Agency, Central Reaction Group (GRC), State Police, Municipal Police and monitoring personnel of the Control and Command Center (C2).

After analyzing surveillance videos, testimonies and various lines of investigation, the agents managed to locate the alleged perpetrator a few hours after the events.

Although it was initially believed that the criminal intended to steal a large sum of money from the bank, investigations revealed that he did not manage to access the bank's funds.

According to the information obtained, he only managed to steal 170 pesos in cash from the manager, the amount she was carrying with her at the time.

The case generated great interest because the alleged perpetrator worked within the same shopping center where the robbery occurred, and was recognized by other workers, who notified the authorities.

Now the State Attorney General's Office will be in charge of compiling the corresponding investigation file and determining the legal status of the detainee.

Authorities emphasized that the rapid coordination between the different agencies allowed them to solve the case in a matter of hours and prevent the suspect from evading justice.
