On 4 June 2026, a landmine (UXO) which had been left by ISIL militants exploded in the area near Qaryat al Asriyah (Al Anbar), as the group of shepherds were passing through the area, killing one person and injuring three or four others. Security forces cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation. 3 or 4 injured, 1 fatality.
