On 1 June 2026, a transport bus struck an IED planted by an armed group (likely JNIM, based on location) between Kassaro and Soribougou, coded to Nafadji Koro (Kassaro, Kita, Kayes) a closest populated place between the two locations. 8 civilians were killed, including a student, and forty-two were injured, ten of them seriously.
