On 31 May 2026, Hezbollah forces in Lebanon launched several rockets that crossed into Israeli territory, 1 of which hit an open area, coded to Kiryat Shmona (Zefat, HaZafon) as alarms sounded in Kiryat Shmona and Metulla, while the rest were intercepted by Israeli forces. No casualties reported. Hezbollah claimed to target Kiryat Shmona with rockets and artillery shells twice during the day, once around this time and another time later in the day. Alarms sounded in Kiryat Shmona around the second time, but Israeli sources did not otherwise confirm the attempted attack.
