On 1 June 2026, between 11:40 and 11:50 PM local time, Hezbollah fired two (Ababil type) hovering quadcopter drones targeting two Israeli Merkava tanks in the Balou area of Haddatha town (Bint Jbeil, Al Nabatieh), claiming direct hits. The IDF announced that an Israeli medical officer was killed and seven other soldiers were injured in a Hezbollah attack in southern Lebanon (coded to this event). Two officers and a soldier were seriously wounded, one soldier was moderately wounded, and two officers and a soldier were lightly injured in the attack.
