On 4 July 2021, PKK militants detonated a roadside IED they planted in the vicinity of Okcular village in Eruh district, Siirt during the passage of a military vehicle. The attack inflicted material damage to the vehicle, but no casualties occurred. HPG (PKK) claimed 10 Turkish soldiers were killed in the attack but this was not confirmed.
