On 28 May 2026, the Nigerian military launched an air interdiction against a Zamfara militia's enclave in the Bagega Forest (Anka, Zamfara). The strikes were carried out by a helicopter gunship to destroy the militia's structure. About 31 hostages escaped and were rescued by the military. Casualties unknown.
