Three thieves disguised as windshield washers violently robbed a late-model pickup truck in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store in the La Carcaña area of San Pedro Cholula , Puebla . The victim was beaten and held at gunpoint during the robbery, preventing witnesses from intervening.
The violent robbery occurred Monday night in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store . According to the victim's official statement, she was shopping alone when she was approached by three men wearing reflective vests to impersonate street workers.
Suddenly, the suspects surrounded the woman and, under threat of death, demanded she hand over her car keys . Despite the danger, the victim tried to resist and began to struggle with the criminals while shouting for help from people nearby.
During the physical altercation, the driver was assaulted by the assailants. Although several bystanders witnessed the robbery, none intervened because at least two of the criminals drew handguns to intimidate the crowd and ensure their escape.
The thugs boarded the victim's truck , a Volkswagen Tiguan (2025 model, sand color, with license plates UFJ-153-B from the state of Puebla), and fled at high speed towards the Periférico Ecológico.
Inside the stolen truck was the victim's cell phone. The criminals, aware that the mobile device had a satellite geolocation system and could reveal their escape route, threw the phone onto the asphalt of the Periférico Ecológico before disappearing from sight, complicating immediate technological tracking.
Officers from the San Pedro Cholula Municipal Police and the Puebla State Police arrived at the scene after receiving a distress call. Although the police forces immediately deployed an operation to close off the surrounding areas and search nearby access roads, they were unable to locate the vehicle or apprehend those responsible.
Paramedics assessed the woman for injuries sustained during the struggle and for the nervous breakdown she was experiencing. Meanwhile, security officers advised the victim on the legal procedures to follow to file a formal complaint with the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) regarding the crime of armed carjacking.
