Grenade event in Dnipro area, Ukraine on Fri 5th June 2026

On June 5, at around 10:55 p.m., the police received a report of a fight near one of the houses on Lugovska Street in the Amur-Nyzhnyodniprovskyi district of the city of Dnipro.

Patrol police units immediately arrived at the scene. During the detention, one of the participants in the conflict threw a grenade at a law enforcement officer.

The attacker died on the spot as a result of the explosion. Four law enforcement officers received injuries of varying severity.

The injured police officers were hospitalized to a medical facility for necessary assistance.

An investigative and operational team, explosives technicians, and other specialized police services worked at the scene. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident and collecting evidence.

Investigators of Police Department No. 1 of Dnipro District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (assault on the life of a law enforcement officer).

The investigation is ongoing.
