On 4 July 2021, unidentified forces launched a presumed bomb-laden drone on a pro-Hadi (5th Infantry Brigade) camp in Mudiyah district (Abyan) striking a mosque during afternoon prayers killing 2 soldiers and injuring 20 others. It is unclear who conducted the strike with one source claiming that it was Houthi forces. Some sources reported a missile instead of a drone attack.
