An 11-year-old Tanchangya (Dainet) boy living near the Bangladesh–Myanmar border died on Tuesday after a mortar shell he collected near the border fence detonated.
The deceased has been identified as Suminaing Tanchangya, the son of Kinghla Tanchangya .
They reside in Baishfari Dainat village in Naikhongchari township of Bandarban district, located along the Bangladesh border.
According to local reports, the child found the unexploded mortar shell on June 2 near border pillar 39, close to the border post in the Naikhyongchhari Township of Bandarban District, Bangladesh.
The fatal explosion occurred later that day while he was handling the device.
