A member of the Hermosillo Municipal Police died after being shot while responding to a report about the presence of armed individuals in a bar located in the city's central area.

The events occurred around 5:50 p.m. at the intersection of Juárez and Morelia streets , in the Centro neighborhood, where authorities received a report of armed individuals at the establishment known as Club Juárez .

According to official information, upon arriving at the scene, officers were met with gunfire from the alleged perpetrators. Officer Luis Fernando Molina Avilés was seriously wounded during the attack .

Following the attack, the officer was rushed to a hospital for specialized medical care. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he died shortly after arriving at the medical center .

Authorities also reported that two more people were injured during the attack and were taken for medical treatment.

Following the armed attack, a joint operation was implemented involving elements of the Mexican Army , the Criminal Investigation Agency (AMIC) , the State Public Security Police and the Municipal Police .

The corporations are searching for the alleged perpetrators, who were preliminarily identified as two men and a woman .

Authorities are continuing their investigations to clarify the facts, determine the circumstances of the armed attack, and locate those responsible.

The officer's death adds to the acts of violence recorded in the region and keeps the attention of the security forces involved in the search efforts.
