IED event in Sinaloa, Lola Beltrán area, Mexico on Sun 7th June 2026

Members of the Sinaloa Special Operations Group, alongside federal forces, detected a weapons cache of unconventional armaments in the Lola Beltrán neighborhood, in the municipality of Rosario. The discovery disrupts the flow of lethal supplies to the factions operating in this southern region of the state, an area marked by constant tactical movements of criminal groups.

The raid was triggered after locating an abandoned Jeep JT pickup truck containing tire-deflating devices inside, which turned up an active theft report in the Plataforma México database. As they expanded the public security perimeter, the operational cells identified the rural dwelling used for storing and assembling the artifacts. Our correspondent on the scene documented that the property is located near a dirt road that connects to the mountainous boundaries of the region.

The total seizure amounted to exactly 53 small drone explosive devices, 4 artifacts weighing 10 kilograms each designed for aerial attacks, 20 three-kilogram Claymore-type explosive devices, and 490 dual-purpose mines with pressure and electric current activation systems. All the war matériel and the seized vehicle were turned over to the Office of the General Prosecutor of the Republic to initiate the forensic process.
