SAA event in Amalucan area, Mexico on Thu 4th June 2026

An armed robbery of a public transport unit led to a chase , a shootout and the detention of two thieves by citizens in the vicinity of the Amalucan neighborhood , located northeast of the city of Puebla .

The incident occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, June 4th, near the Ciudad Satélite housing complex . At that location, a group of approximately five armed individuals boarded a Route 50 bus with the intention of robbing the passengers of their valuables and cash.

After the robbery, the assailants got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. However, several of the affected passengers decided to get off the bus and began a chase in an attempt to recover their belongings and capture the perpetrators.

During the escape, one of the criminals pulled a firearm from his clothing and fired at least five shots into the crowd that was chasing them. One civilian was wounded by a bullet. Despite the gunfire, the bystanders and some local residents persisted and managed to apprehend two of the suspects.Politics in Mexico

Upon being intercepted and directly identified as the perpetrators of the robbery, the two men were subdued and beaten with punches and kicks by the enraged mob. Footage capturing the exact moment the group of citizens physically assaulted the suspects in the street was circulated on various digital platforms.

In response to reports of an ongoing lynching, officers from the Puebla Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) deployed a rapid response operation in the Amalucan area . The officers secured the perimeter, rescued the detainees, and took them into police custody.

Additionally, paramedics from the Municipal Civil Protection agency arrived at the scene to provide initial medical attention to both the civilian wounded by gunfire and the two alleged assailants, who were suffering from injuries sustained in the incident. Emergency responders reported that none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Finally, the two men arrested were transferred and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office so that their legal status can be determined in the coming hours. Meanwhile, the corresponding investigations are ongoing in order to identify and locate the other three accomplices who managed to evade justice.
