A large police and emergency response was launched in the municipality of Zamora, Michoacán, following the discovery of five bodies—four men and one woman—inside an irrigation canal near the Primero de Mayo neighborhood. All the victims had gunshot wounds. The discovery occurred after residents of the area noticed the bodies and alerted emergency services, reporting several unconscious people in the irrigation canal. The report immediately mobilized local and state law enforcement agencies. Upon arriving at the scene, officers confirmed the discovery of the five victims. Initial on-site inspections revealed that the four men were completely bound, while the woman's body lay beside them in the same canal. Paramedics arrived at the scene only to confirm that none of the victims had vital signs. In response, officers cordoned off the area with police tape to preserve the scene and safeguard any potential ballistic and material evidence. Hours later, specialists from the Forensic Services and Crime Scene Unit (USPEC) arrived to conduct the technical processing of the site and collect evidence. They then ordered the removal of the bodies for transport to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) facilities, where autopsies will be performed.
