On 29 May 2026, Houthi forces fired 1 heat missile targeting the Chief of Staff of the 2nd Emergency Forces and commander of the Azal Axis, while he was passing through the vicinity of the front lines in Baqim district (coded to district center Baqim as Suq) (Sadah). The missile attack resulted in the injury of the commander's guards. He survived what was labelled as an 'assassination attempt.
