On 28 June 2021, Turkish military carried out artillery strikes against PKK forces in the vicinities of Keste (Kesta), Hirore (Hiroor) and Birifka (Birifkah) villages in Al Amadiya district of Duhok. The bombardment reportedly inflicted damage to electricity supply lines to Hiroor, causing power outage to the village. Source reported that no casualties occurred in the attacks.
