On 28 June 2021, US warplanes conducted airstrikes targeting 2 locations of the pro-Iran militias, Hezbollah, Sayyid al Shuhada Brigade, and Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces positions in Al-Heri village near the Syrian-Iraqi borders near Al-Bukamal city in Deir ez Zor countryside, killing 7 Popular Mobilization Forces members, and injuring others, including civilians. 2 members died a day later from their wounds. Fatalities coded to 9.
