On 27 May 2026, near Kin Pun village (Ye township, Mawlamyine district, Mon state), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike and dropped many bombs with three fighter jets at the Ye Ogre Group outpost around 1 am. Democratic Voice of Burma and Myanmar Pressphoto Agency reported that around 12 members of the Ye Ogre Group were killed and many were injured and the outpost was destroyed. Irrawddy and Network Media Group and Khit Thit Media and BBC News and The Voice of Chinland - VOC reported that around 10 members of the Ye Ogre Group were killed and at least 20 were injured. Karen Information Center News reported that 6 members of the Ye Ogre Group were killed and around 20 were injured. Fatalities coded as 6, using the lowest estimate.
