2nd June 2026
Members of the National Guard seized weapons and ammunition in the Los Ángeles neighborhood, in the northern part of Culiacán, Sinaloa. The seizure took place during security and prevention patrols in an area affected by recent urban violence. This armed action follows a chase and shootout on May 30 in the same area involving federal forces, an incident that resulted in the capture of two civilians, the seizure of a vehicle, and damage to two official patrol cars. Upon arriving at the scene, a security perimeter was established to secure the weapons abandoned in the street. The total seizure consisted of the following items: 3 rifles, 32 magazines, and 2,108 rounds of ammunition. All the weapons and ammunition seized in the northern part of the Sinaloa capital were transferred and turned over to the appropriate authorities for the formal initiation of investigations.
