On 28 May 2026, an IED (sticky bomb) attached to a car exploded while the car was moving near the Dour al Naft area in Amara city (Maysan), killing one of the senior commanders of Ansar Allah Al Awfiya (Adi Mohsen Jabbar al-Halfi, aka 'Sheikh Zafer'), and injuring his companion, also a commander. Police forces opened an investigation. 1 injured, 1 fatality.
