On 28 May 2026, around 05:15 am Kuwait time, IRGC forces launched 1 Fateh-110 ballistic missile targeting the Ali Al Salem Air Base (Al Jahra, Kuwait). Kuwaiti forces intercepted the missile, but falling debris impacted the base, injuring 5 Americans, including contractors and active duty personnel, and damaging 2 MQ-9 Reaper strike drones. There were no fatalities. The IRGC claimed the attack, stating that it targeted the base that was the origin of an earlier US attack against a location on the outskirts of Bandar Abbas in Iran.
